Future Boogie

Been on this sorta vibe this week, particularly feeling the recent Dam-Funk EP a lot, in fact all of his stuff- can't wait for the LP. Silkie's forthcoming 'Purple Love' tune on Deep Medi is also massive with me at the mo. VA - Dobie Presents British Street Soul

Wicked limited edition 2 disc collection done in association with Spine Magazine from a few years back, compiled by the living legend Dobie. A short review taken from The Fader at the time: "If this magazine was a record store (and sometimes I think it should be) I would put British Street Soul in my section of the Employee Picks display this month, with little stickers I cut out during lunch that said NICK'S SECRET HEAT or GROWN N SEXY or something. Then I'd print out a little blurb to glue on the index card underneath, talking about how UK producer Dobie filled these two excellent discs with his favorite homegrown R&B by everyone from Galliano to Soul II Soul to Finley Quaye (remember him?), taking special care to highlight actual favorites, not just the hits--which is why there's no "Back To Life" from Soul II Soul, and why one hit wonder Junior is represented by a song that wasn't the hit. Then I'd feel really pleased with myself about the GROWN N SEXY sticker, 'cause nobody really reads blurbs, but that kinda stuff moves records."

Here's another promo track that I'm admittedly very late on posting but better late then never eh. Get quite a few through but this stood out from the pile when I first heard it. He's already been getting plenty of hype everywhere and impressed by everything I've heard from him so far.
