VA - Romanian Jazz

Whilst I'm posting the Polish one, heres another great comp in the series. “As if by magic, Jazzanova, Stephan Steigleder and Khidja from Bukarest, Romania, found an unexplored record archive in the east, called Electrecord. None of the names here ring any bell with the average amateur jazz fan, but of course it sounds great. The overall sound is a cocktail of American jazz with a Balkan blend. I'd say it's one of the best jazz compilations on Sonar Kollektiv yet.” Courtesy of beyondjazz.net

Some really great tracks which for me personally, were a great eductaion on the amazing Polish Jazz scene from that time which I knew little about previously. Highly recommended to all jazz fans.

Georg Levin - (I Got) Somebody New (Original Mix)

As previously mentioned on here a while ago, I eventually got round to digging this up again. It still sounds great...

Wahoo - Don't Take It Personal

As requested and mentioned in one of my earlier posts, heres the title track and another standout from Wahoo's new LP. Wahoo are the duo of Dixon from Jazzanova and the excellent Georg Levin from Sonar Kollektiv fame. I will post a slightly older but absolute classic Georg Levin track in the forthcoming weeks once I can find it again.

Various Artists - Computer Incarnations For World Peace

The Galaxy 2 Galaxy - Journey Of The Dragons track has reminded me of a recent track from the superb Jazzanova compiled 'Computer Incarnations For World Peace' on Sonar Kollektiv. It's another track from Jean-Luc Ponty where you can hear it's 'proto-techno' sound and you can also definitely hear the influence it has had on 'Journey Of the Dragons' in particular. The whole compilation is one of the best releases of 2007 - the 'Special Touch-Garden Of Life' track being another personal favourite from it.
